Apple overcoming challenges: Foldable iPhone closer than ever
A new report suggests Apple is advancing in foldable iPhone development despite technological hurdles, with a 2026 launch expected. What device will it resemble?
Apple is pushing forward with the development of its first foldable iPhone, according to a new report by The Information. Rumors suggest the foldable device, code-named V68, will feature a horizontally folding design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
Despite ongoing efforts to address technological challenges, such as the crease in the center of the screen and the device's thickness, the report indicates that the foldable iPhone has progressed from the conceptual stage to more advanced development phases. Speculation about the foldable iPhone is not new; in February, it was first reported that Apple was testing several foldable device prototypes.
In parallel with the foldable iPhone's development, Apple is reportedly working on a foldable screen MacBook and an ultra-thin iPhone model, the "Slim." Additionally, the company plans to upgrade next year's iPhone models with an innovative camera featuring a mechanical aperture, enabling depth-of-field effects.
Despite the impressive progress, it remains unclear when exactly we will see the first foldable iPhone. However, estimates suggest it could be released in 2026.
