Discover the secrets of the universe: A journey through the cosmos to unravel the mysteries of our existence and unlock the wonders of the cosmos.

Anyone who owns a washing machine knows that both the filter and the rubber seal around the door must be cleaned regularly. However, it turns out that there is a secret compartment in the machine that also needs to be cleaned - and chances are you didn't even know it existed.

Trust us, sometimes it's better not to know. We give you a moment to repent before you are exposed to the following lines. Peace to the brave. Meet Jessie, @jessiee_marie on Tiktok, who shared a video of just 5 seconds in which she reveals the hidden compartment of her washing machine and the nauseating dirt it contains.

Some argue that this is why our clothes don't always smell good after washing. In the video, Jessie removes part of the washing machine drum and reveals the grim reality of what has collected there: the accumulation of moisture and detergent residue has resulted in a breeding ground for nasty-looking mold and mildew. "Just found out you can take out this piece in your washing machine," she wrote on top of the 20 million-viewed video, in which she used the sound of a person vomiting. She herself found out about this terrible thing from another video and decided to try it herself.

Many viewers admitted that it was very unfortunate that they were exposed to this video. "Lol Something else to add to my list of things to clean BC of tiktok!," one wrote and another added: "Please no. Not another thing I have to clean."

One viewer wrote: "Out of sight, out of mind" and another added: "After seeing this I shall not be removing mine." Others accepted the challenge and decided to remove the part and see with their own eyes what was hidden under it, but some viewers claimed that they were unable to do so. Jessie clarified that she has an LG washing machine, so on other washing machines this part may not release or is not present. However, if your washing machine has this part, in a series of follow-up videos she explained how to remove it and clean the area.

"To remove the piece I used a screwdriver to undo the screw on top," she said in one of the videos, "Then I just slid the piece toward me and pulled upwards and it came right off." After removing it, she cleaned the compartment by removing the thick clumps of dirt with a skewer, sprayed it with dish cleaner (Dawn Power) and soaked the parts in boiling water to help the stuff dissolve. Jessie rinsed the parts with water and proceeded to scrub the dirt out with the cleaning spray. She also cleaned the inside of the washing machine to which the part was attached and removed all the dirt that had accumulated on it.
