Combining rising temperatures with lush greenery, it's officially travel season. Explore recommended European routes with Euronews' travel magazine.

With the arrival of spring the temperatures rise and nature is greener than ever. In combination with the holiday period and flights abroad, the travel season is officially underway. The travel magazine on the Euronews website recommended several routes in Europe that you should not miss this spring.

Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, Portugal

Although Portugal is a wonderful country known for its beautiful beaches, it also boasts some of the most stunning walking routes in Europe. The Coastal Seven Hanging Valleys Trail goes all the way to the Algarve coast and includes extraordinary sandstone cliffs, the famous Bengal Cave and the breathtaking Infanta-Grace National Park.

Mont-Saint-Michel Island, France

From the Alps to the vineyards of Bordeaux, in France everyone will probably find the type of trip that suits them best. But if you feel like something a little different a hiking trip in the peaceful region of western France is something you must try. Among other things, you can pass between the villages and come across the famous castle on the island of Mont-Saint-Michel, close to the beaches of Normandy. The place is considered the most beautiful settlement in France. The village is full of alleys and steep streets, connected to the mainland which is covered by water during high tide. A must try experience.

Rhine Castle Trail, Germany

Germany has so many beautiful forests, rivers and mountain ranges that you will immediately understand why hiking is such a popular pastime in Germany. As temperatures begin to rise in spring, the weather becomes pleasant and perfect for walks and trails featuring castles from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. The Rhine Castle Trail is west of Frankfurt and is considered one of the most beautiful trails in Germany.

Pulpit Rock summit, Norway

The magnificent peak in the Norwegian fjords is located in the southwest of the country and has been described many times by the world magazine "Lonely Planet" as one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the world. The peak was created more than 10 thousand years ago, and is the most iconic natural landmark in Norway. The route itself is 8 km long and reaches the top of the cliff at a height of 604 meters.

Engelberg, Switzerland

Camino de Santiago, Spain

The main road is the French road that runs through northern Spain.

Mount Vesuvius, Italy

The mountain is located east of Naples and is actually a volcano. In 79 AD an eruption of lava destroyed the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Since then, the mountain has become a real attraction and attracts tourists from all over the world, offering a spectacular route that overlooks the mouth of the mountain. In fact, Vesuvius is considered the most active volcano in Italy, but the last time it erupted was in 1944.

Mount Snowdon, Wales, UK

The mountain is in the Snowdonia National Park which includes a number of magical mountains, the most prominent of which rises to a height of 1,083 meters and is the highest in Wales as well as one of the highest mountains in the entire kingdom. The summit of Mount Snowdon can be reached by a magical ride on the old steam trains, and from there there are spectacular hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty next to green hills.

Laugavegur track, Iceland

The famous route is located in the south of the country about three hours' drive from the capital Reykjavík, and starts in the Landmannalaugar reserve, which is the colored mountain reserve, and ends in the Þórsmörk reserve. The route takes most travelers about four days, during which you will encounter cliffs, huge waterfalls and even a volcano. pleasure is guaranteed.

Via Transilvanica, Romania

The 1,400 km long route crosses the country from north to south. It passes between 108 villages and towns through the Carpathian Mountains and contains some of the most spectacular views in all of Romania.
