Marley: Leading global brand prioritizing greenness
From recycled materials to iconic design: Discover Marley's commitment to sustainability and sound quality.
Recycled aluminum, recycled copper, recycled bamboo – even recycled silicone: global sound brand MARLEY is one of the few in the world where all its products are made from 100 percent recycled materials. Just before Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22, we visited their sole branch.
Look at the beautiful speakers in the pictures. Would you believe they are made entirely from recycled materials? The fabric consists of recycled plastic bottles, the wood is bamboo; there's recycled aluminum, recycled paper, recycled metal, and basically what not.
Recycling is the legacy of music legend and reggae icon Bob Marley, who championed values of sustainability and environmental conservation, hence all products in the brand bear his name "House of Marley" are made from recycled materials. By the way, his children Ziggy and Cedella Marley also collaborate with the company today.
It's hard not to be impressed by the speakers and headphones in the store at Dizengoff Center in Tel Aviv – the only store in the world operating under this brand (all products are sold in various networks and websites worldwide and in Israel). The light wood along with the black fabric, the minimalist design along with precise chic, make these items iconic. They capture rightful attention, and in any living room where you find one of their items, you'll hear the question, "Where did you buy this?"
The brand doesn't compromise on sound quality, even when it comes at a price. They've developed, for example, a fabric called Rewind made from organic cotton, hemp, and recycled plastic bottles. Not only that: a fixed percentage of all company profits is automatically transferred to the organization One Tree Planted, which plants trees worldwide. For just a dollar, you too can contribute to planting a tree anywhere in the world of your choice – Asia, Africa, Europe, North or Latin America.
Environmental quality and chic The best-selling product at Marley is the GET TOGETHER 2: a lightweight Bluetooth speaker designed in Marley's unique style, using recycled materials. Its beauty lies in its portability – you can take it with you to picnics, gatherings with friends, trips, the beach, or basically anywhere you want your music to accompany you. And the sound? Marley surely knows what they're doing. By the way, this speaker also includes another perfect feature:
You can use the speaker as a charger for your mobile phone, a super useful feature ensuring no one's phone dies and the music keeps playing. Marley's sound and design don't stop at headphones, and with them, too, you can enjoy uncompromising quality. Recently, a new collection of headphones was launched, including the wireless POSITIVE VIBRATION FREQUENCY earphones with Bluetooth connectivity, built-in microphone, and a stunning design available in several different surprising colors.
If we're talking about powerful sound, it's known that nothing beats the sound produced by turntables. When you hear music on a turntable, you hear the depth, the quality, the power. Marley has a collection of turntables, with or without Bluetooth connectivity, in the familiar and iconic design of Marley, and even released a limited edition in black.
The highly recommended speaker to pair with a turntable is the GET TOGETHER DUO, a speaker with an innovative concept in the speaker world: a pair of speakers that can be connected between them or used separately.
"The past connecting with the present, the deep and eternal sound together with Marley's iconic sound, this is the perfect formula that creates our sound collection," says Keren Hugi Koren, Marketing Vice President of the Koffman Group, where the Marley brand also resides. "We invite the Israeli audience to experience our products on the website and to be impressed by the beautiful store at Dizengoff Center. If environmental quality values alongside sound and chic are important to you – I am sure you will be satisfied."
