Since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017, the iPhone's design has not undergone significant changes. Now, according to a new report, Apple is exploring one of the biggest design shifts ever.

With approximately four months to go until the announcement event for the iPhone 16 series, we are already receiving reports about the next generation - the iPhone 17 series, set to arrive in 2025. According to a report on The Information website, Apple plans to launch an entirely new iPhone 17 model, which will be called the "iPhone 17 Slim." The most intriguing detail in the report concerns the rear camera array, which might move from the top left corner, its position since the first iPhone in 2007, to the center top of the device. This positioning is typical of some popular Android smartphones, like Google's Pixel 8 Pro.

The report claims that the new iPhone 17 model will undergo a "significant redesign," similar to the iPhone X, indicating Apple's major ambitions for this device. It could be the mysterious "iPhone Ultra" that has been whispered about for several years, as the report suggests a possible price tag higher than the current Pro Max model, which costs $1,199, making it the most expensive iPhone ever.

According to The Information, there is still no final decision regarding the design. Among the possibilities are an aluminum frame, a smaller hole for the selfie camera, and a central rear camera array. It was mentioned that the iPhone 17 models in general will receive a redesign with a smaller "Dynamic Island."

The reports are based on previous rumors from analyst Jeff Pu, who claimed that the iPhone 17 models will receive a redesign with a smaller "Dynamic Island." Following rumors of a larger screen and a new side button in the iPhone 16 series expected this year, the "Slim" iPhone 17 will feature a 6.6-inch screen - between the 6.1-inch screen of the smallest model and the 6.9-inch screen of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Another analyst, Ross Young, estimates that the new screen will be 6.55 inches.
