Na-Na-Na: YouTube Music will identify the song stuck in your head
YouTube Music introduces a new search tool for Android, powered by artificial intelligence, allowing users to identify songs by humming, singing, or playing a melody.
Tired of humming songs stuck in your head without knowing their names? YouTube Music presents a new feature for Android that can save you from frustration and spare you hours of desperate searching on Google. The new feature allows you to hum, whistle, sing, or play a recording of a song to discover its name.
You don't need to be @KidCudi to use Hum to Search. Hum a song into your Google app, and we'll identify it for you. Test it with your favorite songs, or use it to figure out the song that's been stuck in your head and find your new favorite. pic.twitter.com/MluVNesTpE

How does it work?
- Open the YouTube Music app on Android.
- Tap the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner.
- Look for the sound wave icon next to the microphone icon and tap it.
- Start humming, singing, or playing the tune you're searching for.
- Within moments, a results page will appear with the details of the sought-after song.
The new tool is based on Google’s artificial intelligence technology, which already uses the "Now Playing" feature on Pixel, capable of "matching the sound to the original recording." The new tool comes in version 7.02 of YouTube Music for Android, and it's still unknown when it will be available on iPhone.
Although this isn't the first tool of its kind—Google launched a similar tool in 2020, and the regular YouTube app also offers a similar feature—it is certainly a welcome addition to YouTube Music’s arsenal.
