NOTHING announces second-generation wireless earbuds

The British technology brand NOTHING announced the Nothing Ear (2), the second generation of the company's transparent wireless earbuds. They include active noise cancellation, improved battery life, water resistance, a 11.6mm dynamic driver, Bluetooth 5.3 support, and Hi-Res audio for the highest quality sound. The new earbuds will arrive in Israel through official import by the 'Bug' chain, priced at NIS 589.

"We are excited to introduce the EAR (2) as a significant upgrade to our debut product EAR (1), which sold over 600,000 units," said Carl Pei, CEO and co-founder of NOTHING. "With EAR (2), we re-engineered everything from the ground up and used advanced technology to create the ultimate personalized listening experience."

The EAR (2) includes DUAL CONNECTION technology, allowing users to connect to two devices simultaneously and switch seamlessly between music playback or receiving calls. For example, if a user enjoys music on their laptop and receives a call on their phone, the EAR (2) will automatically notify them of the incoming call. They can easily answer the call using the earbud’s press control, and when the call ends, the earbuds will automatically resume playing music from the laptop.

Additionally, the earbuds offer up to 36 hours of music playback after a full charge of the charging case (with ANC off). With fast charging, they can provide up to 8 hours of playback with a 10-minute charge. The EAR (2) also supports wireless charging up to 2.5 watts and can reverse charge compatible devices. Alongside this, the earbuds include IP54-rated water and dust resistance.

For a more convenient and precise user experience, the EAR (2) has press controls to prevent any accidental touches and discomfort from tapping inside the ear canal. Users can skip tracks, switch between noise-cancellation modes, and adjust volume. The controls can be customized to individual needs in the NOTHING X app, available for download from the app store.
