A small and precise attention to the styling of the table will make a big difference, certainly when the entire evening is conducted around the same festive table and there is no doubt that its design affects the atmosphere of the entire holiday evening.

Temporary elegance: A large arrangement in the center of a table

"A good flower arrangement should create a harmonious atmosphere in the hospitality environment and we usually want to spread it across the entire table" says Michelle Maor from Studio Enso. "The classic approach advocates one dominant arrangement in the middle of the table combined with two small garlands on each side."

According to her recommendation, constraints such as the size and structure of the table should be considered, with the rule of thumb being to keep the flowers low in order not to interfere with eye contact between the diners. It is recommended to choose the type of flowers according to the general design concept. "And don't forget that it is always advisable to combine candles" she emphasizes.

Personal attention: A delicate flower arrangement for each diner

If the table is not large enough to contain decorations that are not functional for the meal itself, you can decorate each plate by placing a single flower in the center or even a small bouquet that will be placed on the napkin. Alternatively, wilder looking green leaves will also do the job. For those who use napkin holders, there is the option of placing the flowers inside the holder next to the napkin.

Japanese ikebana: Flowers, water and fire

According to Michel, what makes the Japanese flower arrangement, or as it is traditionally called Ikebana, perfect for the holiday feast is "the ability to control the size and height as well as the layout on the table". The look is on the one hand minimalistic and refined and on the other hand special and has a very impressive presence. "The flowers and water create a flow and you can add floating candles placed next to the arrangement and then you get a powerful combination of earth, water and fire." Although it is an ancient tradition, the appearance of the ikebana is modern, clean and sometimes innovative.

Mini arrangements along the table

Arrangements of green leaves combined with small flowers in small transparent vases of different types along the entire table will give a refreshing eclectic look to any table in an instant. An easy and super impressive upgrade will give floating candles that can be placed in glass cups with water. Maor emphasizes the importance of floating candles, an easy-to-use and inexpensive item that adds a lot to the design of the table.

Natural looking table

For those who prefer a wild and less tight look, Michelle recommends considering the natural style. Scattering green branches such as myrtle (virtues for blessing and an excellent smell), eucalyptus, ferns, wheat, etc. will enrich the table in an instant. These are strong greens that will survive an entire evening without water. Between them you can place cylinder candles in white and linen shades as well as rotate the plant around the candle itself. Floating candles in transparent glasses of water will give a complementary effect to the eclectic nature that decorates the table.

Using elements of the holiday

The royal red pomegranate is one of the most festive and beautiful fruits that the fall season has to offer. In addition, it is one of the fruits most associated with the holiday. Place a significant amount of pomegranates in a central oval serving plate or in two smaller ones that will be placed along the table. For each diner, place half a cut pomegranate, revealing the maddening seeds, on the plate of the first course. For all the abundance and color, you can match a map in shades of green or a scattering of green leaves that will provide contrast to the deep shades of the pomegranate.

To complete the look, candles in red tones will add the precise touch of a pleasant, festive and intimate atmosphere.
