Four decades of luxury and art: Galia Lahav shines at New York bridal fashion week
From daring corsets to soft lace with three-dimensional elements, Galia Lahav once again stuns with a collection that leaves no one indifferent.
Galia Lahav is undoubtedly a household name in the world of bridal fashion and haute couture. Her gowns grace not only brides in Israel and around the world but also red carpets at prestigious festivals and award ceremonies. The brand, which began four decades ago in Israel, quickly rose to prominence and became a global name, with representation in over 70 stores worldwide and five boutiques in major cities. Lahav’s unique signature, which radiates soft urban magic, is evident in every gown, and with each season, she masterfully incorporates major trends while maintaining her timeless style.
Today, Lahav’s focus extends beyond the use of luxurious fabrics and attention to every tiny detail. The brand also integrates advanced technologies to ensure that each gown fits perfectly, no matter where in the world the bride places her order. Each dress is hand-crafted with precision, paying attention to even the smallest details, making Lahav’s bridal gowns a global status symbol and one of the reasons her brand has become one of the most renowned couture labels worldwide.
This year, we were introduced to Lahav’s new collection on the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week – a collection that is entirely lace, yet each gown is completely different from the one that preceded it.
Galia Lahav’s dresses always combine a soft lingerie aesthetic with trendy twists that celebrate the body – regardless of size, as proven by the plus-size model who strutted the runway. This year, it seems Lahav has taken things to the next level, with each gown telling a different story, all of which appear to be drawn from the same magical urban fairytale. The collection is filled with corsets, where lace appliqués are strategically placed to flatter and embrace the body in all the right ways. In some gowns, lace is combined with stones for an especially dazzling effect.
One striking element is the unique geometric necklines and large, rich skirts that flow around the body, with three-dimensional lace appliqués bursting from every angle, adding layers of luxury.
Many of the looks balance between a lingerie vibe and a red carpet moment – a sexy combination that’s hard to ignore, featuring corsets and fitted skirts that hug the body, paired with unique floral embellishments on the sleeves or the addition of a back skirt, an unexpected detail that adds a dramatic dimension.
Lahav’s signature veils are also an integral part of the look, with elements that echo the gown’s design, adding another layer of magic for brides who want to wear a true work of art. The collection as a whole plays with aristocratic nostalgia and dramatic stitching and corsetry, while blending classic elegance and sophistication. Ultimately, the unifying thread is the desire to make every woman feel the most beautiful in the world, no matter her size.
