Experience a magical stay in Czechia with Smurf-themed villas, fun activities for all ages, and delightful encounters with beloved characters—just don’t tell Gargamel!

Families often take advantage of trips abroad to visit attractions designed for children. Museums, dedicated parks, and buildings focused on wildlife, technology, and science are just a few of the activities offered to curious little ones around the globe. To enhance the experience for children—and let’s be honest, for parents too—special hotels themed around beloved cartoon characters are available worldwide.

These hotels are designed in the spirit of these animated stars, with the vibrant colors associated with the characters prominently displayed in the decor of the cozy rooms and common areas. The design allows children to feel as if they are starring alongside their favorite characters in a movie or animated series.

The Smurfs, known and loved by many, are a group of small blue creatures wearing white hats—except for Papa Smurf, who wears a red one (no need to nitpick). Originating from Belgium, the Smurfs have captured hearts with tales of their adventures in a hidden village of mushroom-shaped houses. Their peaceful lives take a turn when the evil wizard Gargamel tries to capture them along with his cat, Azrael. The masterpiece was created by Belgian comic artist Peyo, and the Smurfs made their first appearance in the magazine "Spirou" on October 23, 1958, leading to various series, films, and merchandise over the years. Now, it’s the hotel’s turn to shine.

In Czechia, the Smurf Village was established about two years ago, offering accommodations in villas designed to resemble the mushroom houses of the little blue creatures. The JESENICE health resort upgraded its facilities, transforming it into a hotel. At the Jesenice Hotel, located about 100 kilometers from Prague, you will find not only standard hotel rooms but also the "Smurf Village"—a complex featuring "mushroom" villas of various sizes with rooms tailored for couples and families with children. Don’t worry; while wandering around the "village," you will encounter Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Clumsy, Brainy, and other blue friends ready to keep you company and help you capture Instagram-worthy photos.

The hotel boasts a three-star rating and offers a range of enjoyable activities for children, including a massive play area, a slide park, trampolines, bowling, foosball, a climbing wall, basketball courts, and tennis. As a former health resort, you will also find thermal pools, saunas, a rich massage menu, and attractions such as a salt cave, oxygen therapy, and even a beer bath—a wooden barrel filled with beer that transforms into a bubbling jacuzzi.

The experience is quite affordable, with a night in a mushroom villa and a hearty breakfast costing approximately NIS 640 for a couple. Four guests in such a villa will pay around NIS 1,300. For those looking to enjoy spa treatments while the kids burn off energy in the various activities, you can enjoy a 50% discount on all spa and wellness treatments available. Dinner is also offered at half price. The real attraction? Unlimited ice cream!
