The future king of England was spotted riding a scooter at Windsor Castle. Ram Pe'er, CEO of Tel Aviv-based Mii2, explains how it happened and the discount the Prince of Wales received.

Queen Elizabeth was often photographed driving her Range Rover around the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the British royal family resides. Her grandson, Prince William, who will inherit the throne from his father, King Charles, demonstrates more environmental awareness.

The Prince of Wales, William's official title, was photographed riding an electric scooter in Windsor. Palace sources confirmed that William purchased the electric vehicle a year ago and uses it to get from the Adelaide Cottage where he resides to other parts of the vast complex, which is partially open to the public. These distances can reach 3-5 kilometers, and the future king of Britain prefers to travel them in a personal electric vehicle.

The auto and transportation site Autoevolution revealed that the scooter is made by Tel Aviv-based Mii2, which develops its products in Israel and manufactures them in China. The prince was seen riding the YOO2, which costs NIS 4,000 in Israel, a foldable scooter with a 250-watt motor in compliance with Israeli and European standards, limited to 25 km/h and equipped with a 48-volt battery. Officially, it has a range of 45 kilometers for a rider weighing 70 kg on a 3.5-hour charge. It has 10-inch wheels, weighs 17 kg, and can carry a rider weighing up to 120 kg.

In a conversation with Walla Car, Ram Pe'er, the company's CEO and founder, said that Mii2's products are also sold in London and Milan. "William came himself to the store that sells the scooter in London. He asked to take it for a weekend trial, and after that, we received full payment. The prince and the palace did not ask for any discount. We didn't say anything until now, but after the video was released, we could confirm that it was indeed our product."
