Innovative aeroponic cannabis plant launched in Tirat Carmel
Medican X in Tirat Carmel raised around NIS 70 million to establish an innovative aeroponic facility for medical cannabis production.
Medican X, a medical cannabis company, has launched Israel's first innovative aeroponic production facility. The technology enables natural cannabis growth without a substrate, human contact, pesticides, or biological agents, thanks to an investment of around NIS 70 million by Darwin Properties and Investments Ltd.
Medican X specializes in research and development, propagation, cultivation, marketing, and distribution of medical cannabis products. The cannabis is grown and monitored under uniform conditions, ensuring consistent quality of the clones derived from the mother plants. The nurseries are built to a height of four meters and form an automated growing system without human contact, providing all the plant's needs. The nurseries accelerate the rooting and growth process of the clones.
The aeroponic cultivation method is energy-efficient and fully automated, allowing for a high frequency of flowering and a short growth cycle. The system uses recycled, fertilized water sprayed on the exposed roots of the plants, without pesticides, and is characterized by high energy efficiency.
Complete SecrecyThe grow rooms are controlled by unique climate systems developed specifically for Medican X, independent of external seasons and weather. All systems are domestically produced, featuring a 70% energy savings in electricity consumption, maintaining stable climate values in the rooms throughout all growth and drying stages, considering variable conditions like lighting and irrigation rates according to growth cycles.
The company operates under the Ministry of Health's GMP license and the strict international ISO 8 standard for clean room classification in the inflorescence processing area. Plant safety is paramount, with sterile entry and required protective measures to avoid disrupting natural growing conditions without human contact.
Medican X employs about 50 workers at the production plant in Tirat Carmel. Currently, the company's cannabis flowers are marketed in approximately 190 pharmacies nationwide. In the coming months, the company will begin marketing medical cannabis oils.
Vitally Benyaminov, CEO of Medican X, stated: "After building the plant in complete secrecy due to its world-first status, we are pleased to announce that the company's facility, which produces and markets naturally grown cannabis products domestically, has been officially launched. Our unique natural cultivation is conducted using breakthrough technology we've developed, without human contact, pesticides, or irradiation. Our growing method allows us to provide patients with the highest quality treatment.
We invest heavily in R&D to adapt premium cannabis strains to our plant. The automated systems we've developed supply all the plant's needs, and we are committed to uniformly, high-quality, pure cannabis products at affordable prices for every budget."
