Instagram introduces public story comments
Instagram is launching a new feature that allows public comments on Stories, enabling mutual followers to engage with each other openly.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced on Tuesday the introduction of a significant new feature on Instagram: the ability to publicly comment on Stories. Until now, comments on Stories were only possible through private messages, but they will now be visible to all followers.
This change is expected to significantly impact how users communicate on Instagram. While Stories were primarily a way to share content temporarily, they will now become a more dynamic arena for conversations and public interactions.
How will it work? Only your followers can see the comments left on your Story, and only followers you follow back can leave comments on your Story. Comments can be deleted, and the option to allow or disable comments is available for each Story.
The new feature will be gradually rolled out worldwide, including in Israel, over the coming days and weeks.
