It’s quiet, powerful, and smart: What surprised us about the Narwal S20 PRO vacuum-mop?
We tested the Narwal S20 PRO and discovered a powerful device that cleans efficiently and detects dirty areas. It’s perfect for households that prioritize constant cleanliness.
As a household that values cleanliness—though not necessarily the process of cleaning—we regularly bring in innovative vacuum and mop devices to make life easier. With three active teenagers, our home is busy throughout the day, and our previous vacuum-mop simply couldn't keep up. Its suction power was weak, it was too noisy, and it required more maintenance than it provided help. In our search for a new solution, we decided to try the Narwal S20 PRO.
At first glance, the S20 PRO is well-designed. Its metallic-gray finish and rounded lines give it a sleek appearance, and its docking station is compact enough to fit in prominent areas of the home without being an eyesore. The device feels like a small spaceship—highly advanced and sophisticated.
It features a colorful LED display that indicates surface dirt levels, adjusting suction power, water flow, and cleaning solution distribution using AI technology. The display highlights dirty areas in yellow and very dirty areas in red. Additionally, a yellow alert may indicate a dirty brush or a clogged suction pipe, making maintenance more straightforward. The water tank is located at the bottom of the unit and has a relatively large capacity, enough to clean the entire house in one session. The vacuum also comes with a cleaning solution that works well and has a pleasant scent—an extra touch that enhances the overall experience.
The standout feature of this vacuum is its suction power. It feels as though the vacuum is pulling you along, not the other way around. It's fast, powerful, and requires almost no effort to operate. It glides smoothly over surfaces and even works well on carpets. Despite its power, it remains surprisingly quiet—even in turbo mode—compared to other models we've tested.
The S20 PRO has a smart feature that detects when it’s cleaning low areas, such as under furniture where dust tends to accumulate. When the handle drops below a 25-degree angle, it automatically switches to a "low-area mode," increasing suction power to prevent dust from spreading.
When cleaning is complete, returning the vacuum to its docking station activates one of two self-cleaning modes: self-cleaning and drying or self-cleaning alone. The AI technology assesses the vacuum's internal cleanliness and selects the appropriate cleaning strategy, including disinfecting and cleaning the roller brush and suction pipes with high-temperature sterilization.
Like any smart device designed to make life easier, the S20 PRO does require some upkeep. Users need to empty the dirty water tank, clean the filters, and refill the water tank periodically. However, these tasks are minor compared to the significant help the device provides in maintaining a clean home.
One drawback we noticed is that the vacuum isn't very intuitive for first-time users. It took us some time—and several readings of the user manual—to fully understand all its features. Also, note that the user manual is only available in English, so it may be worth requesting a Hebrew version from the company.
The Narwal S20 PRO isn’t cheap but offers good value for its price: NIS 2,999. It is available in Israel through official importer Runlight and can be purchased on the company’s website and from authorized retailers.
