New service simplifies flying pets
New online service by the Ministry of Agriculture makes it easier to request permission to fly dogs and cats to Israel, streamlining the process for pet owners worldwide.
The Ministry of Agriculture launched an online service for requests to fly dogs and cats to Israel. It is a new and intuitive interface that centers everything in one place, is convenient and easy to use, shortens and streamlines the application procedure, and is valid for all countries of the world (except Thailand).
This move is part of a wide variety of moves that the ministry is promoting for the benefit of reducing bureaucracy and making services accessible online to all citizens.
In fact, the new digital service replaces the way of submitting the application for permission to fly an animal, as a personal import, to Israel. As part of it, you can bring in up to two dogs or cats that arrive with their owners on a flight, have stayed with their owners physically for at least 90 days prior to arrival in Israel, subject to the medical tests and approvals required to ensure the health of the public and the animals, including: rabies vaccination and accompanying the owner.
The service will enable end-to-end handling of the request for permission to fly personal dogs and cats, and includes a preliminary questionnaire through which it is possible to verify that the applicant and the animal meet the relevant conditions. After the applicant submits the application, it will be checked by the officials of the office in Israel and answered accordingly. As part of the new service, it is now also possible to update the application or add additional documents when necessary. The answer to the applicants will also be given through the system.
The new service joins the digital service for flying dogs and cats abroad, which has been operating for about three years. As a reminder, before the flight, and after performing the required tests in the destination country, the private veterinarian treating the animal can digitally issue the required health certificate.
