This handheld vacuum empties itself—and it's more than just a gimmick

The newly launched Uwant V100 in Israel features a self-emptying dustbin mechanism, but that’s not the only reason it's worth its price tag (and it costs less than NIS 2,000).

The handheld vacuum market is flooded with options at varying prices and capabilities. With such a vast selection, companies must innovate to stand out. One such company is UWANT, which recently introduced its Uwant V100 vacuum in Israel through 'ELS Brands.'

According to the manufacturer, the vacuum offers features that set it apart from competitors, even with its mid-range price tag. These include an advanced filtration system, a removable battery, a smart LED display, and high suction power—up to 265AW with a 570W motor. Despite all this, it’s priced at 1,890 shekels. Can you really get such a high-performing vacuum for less than half the price of premium models?

Before diving into its suction power, let’s talk about its main selling point. The vacuum comes with a docking station that automatically empties the dustbin. Inside the docking pipe is a bag provided at purchase, which compresses the dirt until it fills up and needs to be replaced. The station doesn't just serve as a stylish stand and charger—it also simplifies the cleaning process. Once you place the vacuum on the dock, it automatically empties the contents into the bag, which can hold up to 60 full uses. Plus, it has no filters that need cleaning, so dust particles won’t scatter into the air.

So, What Did We Think?

To be honest, when I first assembled the vacuum, I had mixed feelings. The concept didn’t fully appeal to me; I’m used to vacuums that simply hang on the wall. But after using it, I found the operation simple and user-friendly. The vacuum is more elegant than I initially expected. It feels pleasant to handle, is very ergonomic, and functions effectively—even on lower power settings. In a house with both a dog and a cat, that’s no small feat.

The first time I placed it back on the station when it was full, I was momentarily startled by the noise, not realizing it was the suction mechanism pulling the dirt into the bag. Not having to manually empty the dustbin is a minor, but noticeable convenience.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of using bags—it feels a bit outdated, like something from 1986—but that’s just nitpicking. The Uwant V100 is an excellent vacuum thanks to its ease of use and the lack of manual bin emptying. The fact that it performs well even at lower power makes it stand out compared to other vacuums. At 1,890 shekels, it’s definitely worth the price. However, I’ve only used it for a month; devices like this need to be tested after a year or more to truly assess durability.
