The messaging app has released a new feature that will allow you to filter your chats and display your favorite contacts at the top of the list. That's how it works.

WhatsApp announced tonight (Wednesday) the addition of the "Favorites" feature to the tabs in the application. From now on, the new option allows you to filter your chats and display your favorite contacts at the top of your conversation list. In addition, whether it's your family WhatsApp group or your best friend, the Favorites contacts will be the same in your chats and conversations list, so you can quickly call them from the conversation list as well.

From the chats screen, select the Favorites filter, then select contacts or groups. Through the Conversations tab, tap Add to Favorites and select contacts or groups. Or simply manage the Favorites option in Settings by going to Settings > Favorites > Add to Favorites. You can always change the order.

According to Meta (formerly Facebook), the owner of WhatsApp, the new option is gradually being released to users around the world starting today, and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks, including in Israel.

And what other innovations will we receive soon?

The leak from the beta version revealed last month indicates that WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow us to transfer our conversation history between all types of devices - iPhone, Android or any other combination - easily and efficiently, regardless of platform. Until today, transferring chats between different devices involved cumbersome and sometimes impossible processes, the new feature promises to change the picture completely.
