With a NIS 12 million investment: Medical Care expands
Medical Care expands its young rehabilitation department with a new young rehabilitation unit and a day hospitalization unit, with a shared investment of NIS 12 million.
Medical Care, the integrative rehabilitation hospital, is expanding its young rehabilitation department, launching a new young rehabilitation unit and a day hospitalization unit with a combined investment of NIS 12 million. A third unit is expected to open in 2025.
The second young rehabilitation unit, featuring 35 beds and covering 1,250 square meters, joins the existing unit in the newly constructed young department. In line with the department’s approach, this unit also follows an integrative treatment protocol, managed by psychologist David Ma’oz. The protocol includes comprehensive physical rehabilitation (orthopedic, neurological, trauma, and war-related injuries), as well as trauma treatment related to the health crisis.
Shauli Herzick-Paz, CEO of Medical Care: “The war has created a strain on rehabilitation departments, and many patients are forced to wait long periods for treatment. Therefore, we decided to invest resources to provide comprehensive and meaningful care for all patients, especially the young patients who often go without care during this time.”
Rehabilitation Program
Each patient is given a personalized physical rehabilitation program and a functional assessment by a certified rehabilitation doctor and a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. The treatment plan includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy (to improve speech and swallowing mechanisms), and medical psychology for both the patient and their family members. The rehabilitation program also includes a personal emotional and mental health treatment plan, including workshops and individual and group therapy. This program is supported by a unique app that sends materials for practice and reinforcement, enhancing the impact of the emotional therapies. Among other offerings, patients are provided with daily resilience workshops that teach practical tools for dealing with and treating mental trauma for both the patient and their family.
The hospital includes a rehabilitation gym and an advanced technology hall with top-of-the-line technological equipment, all supported by a professional team.
Comprehensive Support for Family Members
The integrative program also places special focus on the family members and the challenges they face while caring for a loved one. The center offers guidance and counseling to family members, including workshops and personal therapy if necessary.
Upon discharge, the patient receives a follow-up plan, including life planning at home and close support from the treatment team for two months to ensure the results of the rehabilitation program are maintained.
