Our favorite fast-fashion brand, Zara, channels Chloe with stunning boho-chic designs that are versatile and far more affordable. We've curated some pieces available on the Zara website and app.

In these complicated times, endlessly scrolling through Instagram feeds filled with fashion has become a delightful form of escapism. That’s exactly what we did after the major fashion month of September concluded. But this time, our rapid scrolling came to a sudden halt when we spotted a stunning, tiered maxi dress in a soft bluish-grey shade, adorned with all-over ruffles. It immediately reminded us that boho-chic is back to stay. At first glance, the dress echoed Chloe, but no – it’s actually a breathtaking piece from the popular Spanish brand, Zara.

Love it or hate it, one thing you can’t deny about fast-fashion brands is their ability to quickly translate leading trends and viral designs fresh off the fashion week runways – and at a fraction of the price set by luxury labels. This is precisely Zara’s strength, and often, the brand also maintains decent fabric quality and craftsmanship. The dress in question is a prime example.

Whether it’s summer, winter, fall, or spring, one style that works across all seasons is boho-chic. Think ruffled chiffon fabrics, loose feminine silhouettes, layered textures, and playful transparency with lace. Bohemian aesthetics offer a laid-back coolness, combined with a full-on femininity that feels effortless. These are light, flowy clothes that radiate a "free spirit" vibe, while also exuding power and making a statement.

This longing for something unfinished, free, and full of movement is deeply rooted in the 1970s, when women sought to break free from traditional conventions. Many would argue that this style never truly disappeared. Fashion houses like Isabel Marant and Zimmermann have been embracing it for years, but if there's one brand that defines modern boho-chic at its finest, it’s Chloe.

This year, the new artistic director of Chloe, Chemena Kamali, has refreshed the label’s bohemian DNA. Her Spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, presented at Paris Fashion Week last month, did not disappoint. Kamali redefined how young women today think about sexy dressing, focusing on lightness and sensual freshness. It’s no surprise that high-profile figures like actresses Sienna Miller, Sydney Sweeney, and timeless "it girl" Elle Ferguson have embraced boho-chic and made it a staple in their wardrobes.

In her latest collection, Kamali added a nostalgic touch with vintage floral prints, mainly seen on romantic (but not overly so) dresses, which echoed chic nightgown silhouettes. She also introduced voluminous cropped jackets as an homage to the signature style of the late Karl Lagerfeld during his 1970s era at Chloe. You can expect to see interpretations of these trends at Zara soon. But even now, the brand’s website and app offer a range of boho-chic items that can effortlessly integrate into your wardrobe year-round.

Maxi, mini, or anything in between – dresses with ruffles are a great option that can instantly complete a look. For those who prefer more fitted styles, adding a belt to highlight the waist is always a good idea. In spring and summer, airy silhouettes and transparent fabrics make it easy to pair the dresses with flat sandals for a hippie/Greek morning look, or sexy heeled slides for an evening ensemble. Add large earrings, and you're all set.

As the weather cools, lace starts to play a bigger role, and pairing it with jeans gives the perfect 1970s vibe. When winter arrives, it’s simple – just throw on a chunky knit cardigan or blazer, and to complete the look, don’t forget a pair of cowboy boots or thigh-high boots (we prefer the latter). Zara has plenty of options in this aesthetic, and here’s a pro tip: in the search bar, just type "ruffles." You’re welcome, ladies.
