Passengers thrown off plane in Israel for sharing plane crash pictures - report
The photos included an image of US Airways Flight 1549, which made an emergency landing in the Hudson River, along with the phrase "I hope we all die" written in Arabic.
At least nine passengers were taken off a flight and detained at Israel's Ben-Gurion Airport set to take off for Istanbul, Turkey after one unknown passenger spread photos of a crashing plane to others on the flight, Israeli media reported.
The passenger is believed to have spread the photos via AirDrop, an iPhone function that allows users to wirelessly share files, including photos.
According to Ynet, the photos included an image of US Airways Flight 1549, which made an emergency landing in the Hudson River, along with the phrase "I hope we all die" written in Arabic.
This quickly sparked panic among the passengers and police came on board and detained at least nine suspects, N12 reported.
Not the first time photos of plane crashes were AirDropped on a flight from Israel to Turkey
This isn't the first time passengers on Israel-Turkey have spread pictures of crashing planes, as they have happened on multiple occasions in the past, Ynet reported.
One such occasion happened in May 2022 on an AirAndolou flight, with nine passengers being detained after photos of plane crashes were AirDropped.
This is a developing story.
