Shots fired at Tayibe mayor's house, security guard killed - report
A separate incident that occurred around the same time in Jerusalem saw a resident who died following a violent incident in the Shuafat neighborhood.
Shots were fired at the house of Shua'a Mansur, the mayor of the Arab city Tayibe in central Israel early Friday morning.
Mansur's security guard, Adir Vahib Ghanem, was killed in the incident. Before he was pronounced dead, he had been evacuated to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba. Ghanem was approximately 25 years old, according to Hebrew media.
According to the testimonies of residents, two unknown people arrived in the area and stood outside the house, and then called Ghanem's name, Ynet reported. Following this, he went outside, and then according to the residents, 10 bullets were fired at him.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived at the scene of the incident, where he noted his belief that "police together with the Shin Bet, will find the murderer." Ben-Gvir spoke with Ghanem's family where he voiced his condolences.
Ben-Gvir also stated that incidences like the one in Tayibe is why he wants to add over 3,200 officers to the Israel Police, as the minister said that "we lack a lot of police officers and why we also need a National Guard."

Also in Tayibe, a four-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a moving vehicle and later died from his wounds on Thursday night at the Meir Hospital, N12 reported.
MDA paramedics evacuated him from Tayibe to the hospital shortly before doctors at the medical facility pronounced him dead.
Police have detained a suspect whom they believe was driving the vehicle that collided with the child.
