Israeli aircraft attacks two terrorists posing threat to IDF in West Bank
The Nur al-Shams refugee camp is considered a stronghold for terror groups in the West Bank
IDF troops are operating in the town of Nur al-Shams near the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank, according to an IDF statement on Wednesday night.
During the operation, Israeli aircraft attacked two terrorists who were posing an immediate danger to Israeli troops.
This is the second operation in the West Bank during the month of Ramadan, after an operation in the Dehaishe refugee camp outside Bethlehem on Monday.
The Nur al-Shams refugee camp is considered a stronghold for terror groups in the West Bank, with Israeli media reporting that fighters in the camp have set up observation posts and have significant stockpiles of ammunition and explosives.
Operations and arrests throughout the West Bank
A combination of IDF troops, Border Police, and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) operatives arrested 34 wanted persons throughout the West Bank on Wednesday night, confiscating funds, weapons, and ammunition.
In the village of Anata outside Jerusalem, a wanted man was arrested, and a rifle was confiscated.
A further five wanted people were arrested in the town of Eizariya (biblical Bethany), and terror funds were confiscated.
Soldiers arrested seven wanted men from Nablus earlier in the night and confiscated weapons from Beit Umar near Hebron.
On Tuesday, the IDF arrested nine wanted people throughout the West Bank and destroyed numerous explosive devices.
Since the beginning of the war, about 3,500 wanted people have been arrested in the West Bank.
