The IDF stated that prior to the strike, they carried out steps to mitigate risk to civilian harm, including the use of precise aerial surveillance and intelligence.

Earlier on Saturday, the Israel Air Force struck several terrorists operating in structures located in the area of UNRWA's Al-Jaouni School in the central Gaza Strip, the IDF announced on Saturday.

The IDF noted it operated based on IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) intelligence.

The military also noted that the location served as an operational infrastructure and hideout from which attacks were carried out against IDF soldiers.

This is not the first time that the IDF discovered Hamas activities being held within UNRWA buildings. Late last month, the military found dozens of terrorists hiding within several UNRWA schools.

Previously, the IDF, along with Shin Bet, had also struck multiple UNRWA sites where Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists operated in the central Gaza Strip.

More revelations in Gaza

Also in late June, the Israeli army reported discovering and subsequently destroying a 500-meter-long tunnel near a UNRWA school in Rafah on June 30.

Hamas systematically violates international law, the IDF noted, adding that the terror organization civilian structures and populations in the Strips by using them as shields for its terror attacks against Israel.
