IDF, IAF intercept retaliatory Hezbollah barrage after strikes in southern Lebanon

The IDF aerial defense systems intercepted a series of projectiles fired toward Nahariyya in northern Israel on Wednesday morning, according to the IDF.

The projectiles were launched in response to IAF strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure overnight.

Israel's red alert system, Tzeva Adom, sent at least five siren alerts between 2:23 and 2:24 a.m. on Wednesday.

The military later confirmed that it had identified approximately 15 projectiles crossing into Israel from Lebanon.

The IDF successfully intercepted multiple projectiles, and no injuries were reported.

Hezbollah, according to Ynet, claimed responsibility for the barrage on northern Israel and claimed that the attacks were in response to "the death of three Syrian children in an Israeli attack aimed at the village of Umm al-Tut."

Overnight strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure

Earlier, IAF fighter jets targeted Hezbollah military buildings in Kfar Kila, Aita al-Sha'ab, and other locations in southern Lebanon, as well as terrorist infrastructure in Itatron and Aita al-Sha'ab, the IDF added.

Additionally, IDF artillery targeted threats in Majdal Zoun, southern Lebanon.
