After being injured, he was initially taken to a nearby hospital, and after stabilizing his condition, he was transferred to the Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba for further treatment.

According to the hospital's staff, the injured man was in serious though stable condition, the report on Ynet noted.

Hamas claims responsibility

The Hamas-run Palestinian Health Ministry identified the shooter as an 18-year-old from the area. A photograph from his social media account shows him wearing a military-style uniform and holding an assault rifle and ammunition.

The Islamist terrorist group Hamas said the attacker was one of its members.
