Members of the cabinet, including the Prime Minister criticized the Attorney-General's response to comparisons between the government and Nazi officials.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara for failing to act against comparisons between him and other ministers and Nazi officials, during a cabinet meeting on Sunday morning, according to Israeli media.

Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi said, "We talked here earlier about how Hamas is like the Nazis. Speaking of comparisons to them, I want to ask [Deputy Attorney-General] Gil Limon, who is here, what to do with the one who called the Prime Minister Hitler and the National Security Minister Himmler and wrote on Twitter that Hitler appointed Himmler who took over the police."

Gil Limon responded to Karhi, saying, "I don't know about this."

"Are you serious? I know, hundreds of people contacted me. Everyone knows it," Netanyahu said.

Apples and Oranges

At this point, National Security Minister Ben-Gvir intervened: "If they had said this about Yair Lapid or Gantz, the AG would have ordered an investigation to be opened a long time ago."

National Missions Minister Orit Strock added, "You questioned right-wing activists for less," Netanyahu added, "a shameful legal case."

Limon told ministers, "For the avoidance of doubt, those who compare [ministers] to the Nazis do not know history and have not studied."

Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs concluded by saying, "I request that by next week, the AG will give an update on whether she ordered an investigation to be opened."

Labor Minister Yoav Ben-Tzur said, "The AG wants to overthrow the government; this is not a substantive discussion," the Prime Minister nodded, "Well, that's clear."

Yesh Atid commented on the revelation, "Once again, Netanyahu appears as a crybaby and a coward. The citizens of Israel woke up to missiles from Yemen, the north is bombed every minute, IDF soldiers are on the Gaza front, and the kidnapped are dying in captivity, but he is in his own world."

"The man who set up the poison and incitement machine complains at the cabinet meeting that tweets are being made against him. If it's hard for you, quit. An absolute majority of Israeli citizens will be very happy."
