About 10,000 more people who were supposed to stay for Rosh Hashanah failed to make it. Many of them found themselves celebrating at various airports in Europe, while others remained in Israel.

Health Minister Uriel Busso held talks with Foreign Minister Israel Katz and Transportation Minister Miri Regev on Monday, calling for their urgent intervention in the crisis involving passengers returning from Uman, Ukraine.

Busso expressed grave concerns over the well-being of thousands of Israelis, including elderly individuals and children, stranded in places such as Romania’s airport without basic necessities such as food, water, and medicine.

Despite the ongoing wars in Israel and Ukraine, thousands of Israelis went to spend Rosh Hashanah in Uman to visit Rebbe Nachman's grave, and now many are not sure when they will return home.

Flight cancellations

However, due to flight cancellations, Maariv reported about 10,000 more people who were supposed to stay for the holiday failed to make it. Many of them found themselves celebrating at various airports in Europe, while others remained in Israel.
