Sgt.-Maj. (Res.) Yishai Greenbaum succumbed to wounds from combat in Lebanon

"This Shabbat, the world lost one of its dearest people," Greenbaum's wife, Hadas, wrote

Sgt.-Maj. (Res.) Yishai (Netanel) Greenbaum succumbed to wounds that he suffered in combat in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Saturday.

Sgt.-Maj. Greenbaum, 38, from Lod, served in the 5030th Battalion) in the 288th "Alon" Brigade. He wounded on October 9, 2024.

His wife Hadas wrote, "With a broken and shattered heart, I must announce the passing of my beloved and heroic husband, Yishai Greenbaum."

“Yishai fell in battle protecting his homeland and the Land he loved so much. This Shabbat, the world lost one of its dearest people."

According to Israeli media, Greenbaum was a social worker who specialized in treating soldiers with trauma.

He leaves behind his wife and four children, the youngest of whom is five months old.

Fellow reservist Sergeant Major (res.) Ronny Ganizate was killed in the same battle in which Greenbaum was wounded.
