Intruder breaks into Seoul Israeli Embassy, causes property damage - report
There were no subsequent reports of anyone wounded from the incident. However, the report noted, at the time, that the intruder had not been found.
An unidentified individual trespassed into the Israeli embassy in Seoul, South Korea, and caused property damage, Israel's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday, according to a Walla report.
The embassy was closed due to the Jewish holidays, and there were no employees on site, the report said.
Korean authorities reportedly stated that they were handling the matter and that the Israeli embassy had been in contact with them.
There were no subsequent reports of anyone wounded from the incident. However, the report noted, at the time, that the intruder had not been found.
The report of the property damage at the Israeli embassy in Seoul came as Sri Lankan police arrested two suspects on Thursday for allegedly planning a terror attack on an Israeli tourist spot.
Israeli tourists face security threat
A day earlier, Israeli citizens were warned by Israel's National Security Council to immediately leave the specified tourist areas in southern Sri Lanka over the threat.
Police Media Spokesperson DIG Nihal Talduwa said during a briefing that a building where Israelis stayed in the Arugam Bay area would have likely been the target of an attack.
Danielle Greyman-Kennard and Reuters contributed to this report.
