IDF announces fallen soldier St.-Sgt. Nir Gofer, killed in Lebanon
"Nir was a hardworking boy, excelling in computers, who chose combat service out of a desire to contribute to the country," Dimona Mayor Benny Biton said.
St.-Sgt. Nir Gofer was killed in battle while fighting in Lebanon, the IDF announced on Wednesday.
St.-Sgt. Gofer (20), from Dimona, served in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade.
Gofer fell in Lebanon.
"A heavy burden fell on the city of Dimona tonight following the announcement of the difficult news. Nir Gofer is the son of Geula and Noam and the brother of Oriya, Dan, Gil, Dekla, and Idan," the mayor of Dimona, Benny Biton, said, according to local media.
"Nir was a hardworking boy, excelling in computers, who chose combat service out of a desire to contribute to the country. The whole of Dimona is saddened by his passing. May his memory be blessed."
