Defense Minister Israel Katz and IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, held a security assessment on Friday on the developments in Syria.
"The Defense Minister instructed the IDF to maintain a high level of readiness and to continuously monitor the developments. The IDF is prepared for any scenario and is determined to protect Israeli citizens and safeguard Israel's security interests at all times," a statement from Katz's office said.
