The 474 Brigade began operating on the border to provide additional security to residents of the Golan Heights and State of Israel as a whole.

The IDF has officially engaged in a fourth front of war, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi told IDF Golani Brigade recruits on Sunday.

Halevi made these comments after deploying IDF troops to the buffer zone between Syria and Israel on Sunday evening.

The 'Bashan' (210) Division was deployed along Israel's northeastern border, which touches with neighboring Syria.

"Since last night, we have been engaged in combat on four fronts. Ground troops are engaged in combat on four fronts: Against terrorism in Judea and Samaria, in Gaza, in Lebanon, and last night we deployed troops into Syrian territory."

Increased readiness in Golan Heights

The assessment led troops to increase readiness in the Golan Heights in the last 24 hours, deploying additional ground and air forces to the Golan front and mobilizing other actors in the defense sector.

"Learn to stand together in unity because that’s the resilience of the State of Israel, being there for one another."

The 474th Brigade began operating on the border to provide additional security to residents of the Golan Heights and Israel as a whole.
