Car crash kills three women at Ben Zakay intersection in central Israel

MDA said that the three women showed no signs of life after the collision and were pronounced dead on the scene.

Three women in their 20s were killed in a car crash at the Ben-Zakai junction on Highway 42 near Yavne on Thursday.

In addition to the victims, a man in his forties sustained minor injuries and was evacuated from the scene by Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics.

MDA said that the three women showed no signs of life after the collision and were pronounced dead at the scene.

“They were trapped in their vehicle, unconscious, with severe injuries,” the medics said.

According to MDA, “We performed complex rescue operations while conducting medical assessments, but they showed no signs of life, and we had no choice but to pronounce them dead on the spot.”

"This is a horrific tragedy," the medics added.

Following the crash 

The ZAKA rescue and recovery organization said the crash was “a head-on collision between two vehicles.”

It added that following the accident, ZAKA volunteers had worked at the site of the crash “for hours, focusing on respecting the deceased and collecting remains for burial.”

It also noted that the police were still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
