Syrian allegedly wounded by IDF gunfire while protesting Israeli incursion in buffer zone - report

"IDF personnel that called on the demonstrators to move away identified a threat, and as a result, the protester's leg was injured," the IDF said.

A Syrian civilian was allegedly wounded by IDF gunfire while protesting against the Israeli incursion into the buffer zone in Syria, Syrian media reported on Friday.

The incident occurred in the city of Daraa near the Golan Heights, reports said.

"During a demonstration against IDF activity that took place in southern Syria, IDF personnel that called on the demonstrators to move away identified a threat, and as a result, the protester's leg was injured," the IDF said in a statement, according to KAN.

"We emphasize that the IDF does not intervene in events taking place in Syria. The IDF will continue to act to protect the State of Israel and its citizens," they continued.

Other violent incidences against IDF in Syria

Hours later, the IDF allegedly fired at Syrian civilians following a violent incident in the south of the country, in the Yarmouk Camp area, Walla reported, citing Syrian reports.

The IDF said that the details are being examined.
