Until now, Israel has distributed aid in accordance to the Biden administration's wishes, the report added, but that could change after the President-elect's inauguration.

Israel is considering a dramatic reduction in the flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip following Trump's entry into the White House, according to a Friday N12 report.

Until now, Israel has distributed aid in accordance to the Biden administration's wishes, the report added, but that could change after the President-elect's inauguration.

"It is highly doubtful whether the amount of aid being brought into Gaza today will be similar to the amount that will come in under the Trump administration," N12 quoted a political source as saying.

'If Gaza's situation does not change, Hamas will remain in power'

The source added that "if a decision is made to do so, it will be done in coordination with the new administration and with the understanding that if Gaza's situation does not change, Hamas will remain in power."

Israel has previously considered using the IDF or private companies to take over handing out food to Palestinians in order to take control from Hamas of Gaza's food supply.

According to Israel's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), as of December 30 of last year, Israel had facilitated the delivery of 1,262,106 tons of aid to the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.

COGAT is the Defense Ministry unit that oversees the implementation of the government’s civilian policies in the West Bank and Gaza.

This aid was carried into the Strip on 63,416 trucks and 10,272 pallets, according to COGAT.
