IAF Squadron 122 represented Israel in Greece's "Iniochos" exercise, strengthening military ties with Greece and other international allies.

The Israeli Air Force participated in an international air exercise called "Iniochos", which was held in Greece last week under the leadership of the Hellenic Air Force.

Dozens of aircraft and units from foreign militaries - including Qatar - took part in the exercise, which trained together on air combat scenarios, air-to-ground strikes, dealing with advanced surface-to-air missile threats, and diverse combat scenarios.

Squadron 122 represented the IAF, which operates "Eagle" reconnaissance aircrafts.

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit said that the exercise aimed to "strengthen strategic cooperation with foreign militaries, enhance the readiness of participating forces, and provide aircrews with professional challenges in unfamiliar flight environments and under evolving threat scenarios."

Israeli-Greek military cooperation

Israel has previously held talks with Greece to help the country modernize its military. In late 2024, Greek defense officials announced that they were in talks with Israel to develop a 2 billion euro anti-aircraft and missile defense dome.

"Our effort is for a quick transition of our armed forces to the 21st century," Greek defense Minister Nikos Dendias said.

Former defense minister Yoav Gallant said that Israeli-Greek relations proved to Iran that there was a regional alliance against the so-called axis of resistance.

"Our close relations between the countries sends a clear message to our friends and to our enemies [Iran] - Israel and Greece stand side by side for regional stability," said Gallant.
