New project to enhance Jewish community safety through training, resilience, and intelligence sharing, with initial support targeting schools in Western and Central Europe.

As antisemitic threats across Europe continue to rise, the Yael Foundation has unveiled a groundbreaking security project aimed at safeguarding Jewish communities.

The foundation's new initiative, launching its first phase in January 2025, seeks to provide comprehensive support, including communal resilience, protection, training, and security patrols. The project will initially focus on Jewish communities in Western and Central Europe, with priority assistance given to schools, which are often prime targets for antisemitic attacks.

"We are witnessing distressing levels of antisemitism across Europe, and communities need assistance in creating and shaping a robust and enduring response to these threats," said Uri Poliavich, co-founder of the Yael Foundation. "It is time for a centralized and holistic response to antisemitism, backed by real-time intelligence, best practices, and combating threats in real-time."

The foundation has already mapped European Jewish communities based on threat levels using cutting-edge intelligence and research tools. An analysis that managed to identify those most prepared to implement the project's framework, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.

The initiative's first phase will be supported by an initial funding pool exceeding one million Euros, and the foundation will also appoint a project manager to oversee operations in collaboration with key stakeholders. Among the services provided will be the establishment of voluntary security patrols, enhanced security operations, and educational programs to foster resilience.

Since its founding in 2020 by Uri and Yael Poliavich, the Yael Foundation has emerged as a leading philanthropic organization. Its initiatives impact 13,000 Jewish students across 35 countries. The foundation's initiatives promote excellence in Jewish education and cultivate a strong sense of Jewish identity, preparing students to become future leaders.

"I am delighted that we are launching this unprecedented project that will keep Jewish communities safer and more secure, in order for them to thrive and flourish," Poliavich concluded.
