Senior Hezbollah field commander killed in Israeli strike, two security sources say

A senior field commander in the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah was killed in an Israeli strike on Wednesday outside of the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, two security sources told Reuters. 

He was considered one of the most senior commanders in Hezbollah killed so far in the war.

IDF aircraft strikes a terror cell in Nur Shams, West Bank

An IDF aerial aircraft struck on Tuesday night a terror cell in the Nur Shams camp in the West Bank, after IDF troops and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) forces detected four terrorists planting explosives in the area, the military said on Wednesday.  

This was the same area in which explosives had been situated on Monday. 

The military noted the four terrorists who were subsequently eliminated were Muhammad Shehade, Muhammad Kanouah, Yazid Shafa, and Namer Ibrahim.

The United States Congress will make sure that Israel has all the tools necessary to defend itself because its battle against terror groups is also America’s battle, US Representative David Kustoff (R-TN) said in Jerusalem as Israel battles two Iranian proxy groups on its border.

“In your fight to eradicate Hamas and any other genocidal extremist group that threatens your way of life, America is with you all the way,” he said.

Kustoff spoke at a special event in the Knesset to mark the creation of the first-ever Knesset-House Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Security forces operated on Wednesday to vacate the West Bank outpost of Oz Zion, Army Radio reported.

Clashes ensued between the forces and residents of the area, according to the report. 

The Israel Civil Administration subsequently released a statement noting, "Earlier on Wednesday, officers of the Civil Administration, accompanied by a large force from the border police and other units arrived in the area to carry out an enforcement activity against an illegal construction that was recently established at the Oz Zion outpost.

The United States threatened to hold Israel accountable for West Bank settlement expansion, as the IDF’s Higher Planning Council for Judea and Samaria was set to advanced plans for 5,300 new settler homes in that region.

“Unilateral actions like settlement expansion and legalization of outposts, they are detrimental to a two-state solution,” US State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel told repeaters in Washington.

“So we’ll continue to use the tools at our disposal to expose and promote accountability for those who threaten peace and stability in the region,” he stated.
