Approximately 40 rockets fired toward Upper Galilee from Lebanon

Approximately 40 projectiles were launched into Israel's Upper Galilee from Lebanon late on Saturday evening, Israel's military said shortly after rocket sirens sounded.

While many of the projectiles were intercepted by the IDF, others struck in open areas, the military added.

There were no reports of any casualties or damage following the incident.

Hamas, Hezbollah, and other Iranian-backed groups sought to increase their attacks on Israel during Yom Kippur.

While Israel reduced the intensity of its war effort against Hamas over Ramadan over respect for the Muslim holy month, the Iranian-backed axis often escalates during Jewish holidays. The West, which urged Israel to reduce its operations in Gaza during Ramadan, has not called on Iran and groups such as Hezbollah or Hamas to refrain from attacks during Yom Kippur.

Israel Air Force fighter jets carried out an attack on terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon and eliminated Hezbollah terrorist Araeb el Shoga on Friday morning, the IDF announced.

Al-Shaja'a was an anti-tank commander in Hezbollah's Radwan Forces’ Anti-tank Missile Unit in Meiss El Jabal, southern Lebanon, and was responsible for constant anti-tank fire toward northern Israel, the military stated.
