Two civilians were killed, and two were wounded as a result of a direct hit from a Hezbollah rocket in Nahariya on Tuesday.

The victims were Ziv Belfer, 52, and Shimon Najam, 54.

IAF fighter jets strike Syrian transfer routes used to move weapons to Hezbollah from Iran

Israel Air Force (IAF) fighter jets, directed by IDF intelligence, attacked Syrian regime smuggling routes on the Syria-Lebanon border that were used to transfer weapons to Hezbollah, the IDF announced on Wednesday evening. 

In recent months, the IDF conducted numerous strikes aimed at reducing weapons transfers from Iran through Syria to Hezbollah in Lebanon, the military said. 

The strike on these routes damages the capabilities of Unit 4400, which is responsible for transferring weapons from Iran to Lebanon.

IDF issues evacuation orders for neighbourhoods in southern Beirut

IDF Spokesperson in Arabic Avichay Adraee called for the evacuation of the Haret Hreik and Burj Al-Barajneh neighborhoods in southern Beirut in a post to X/Twitter.

Adraee wrote that residents were located near Hezbollah facilities, and the IDF would operate against these targets, and said to evacuate no less than 500 meters from these areas.

Five soldiers from the Golani Brigade fell in combat in southern Lebanon, the IDF announced on Wednesday evening. 

All five soldiers were from Golani's 51st Battalion.

The soldiers were Captain Itay Marcovich, Staff Sergeant Dror Hen, Staff Sergeant Sraya Elbom, Staff Sergeant Nir Gofer, and Sergeant Shalev Itzhak Sagron.

Israel should “target the civilian infrastructure of the ‘Hezbollah state,’ emphasized head of the Alma Research and Education Center and Middle East expert Tal Beeri, during an interview on Radio 104.5FM.

During the interview, Beeri spoke about data indicating a significant increase in rocket launches toward northern Israel since the start of the ground maneuver in southern Lebanon. After stressing his opinion on how the IDF should conduct its operations in Lebanon, Beeri explained, ”I emphasize the 'Hezbollah state.' This includes their electricity, fuel, and water infrastructures.”

“This is in line with international law, which permits striking infrastructure that enables terrorist activities, and in our view, not enough has been done on this issue of targeting the civilian infrastructure” in Lebanon, which Beeri called “Hezbollah state,” throughout the interview.
