IDF Arabic Spokesman Avichay Adraee called for the evacuation of certain neighborhoods in Beirut, including Haret Hreik and Al-Ghobeiry, in a post to X/Twitter on Friday night.
Adraee warned residents that they were located near Hezbollah facilities and that the IDF would soon operate in these areas.

According to reports, rioters chased Bluth and other officers who were with him and blocked the roads on his way to operational activity. They also shouted insults at him. Five rioters were arrested.

The motion comes after months of evidence collected by the IDF pointing to UNRWA employee's affiliation with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Some countries suspended and later reinstated funding to UNRWA after it was discovered that UNRWA employees had participated in Hamas's Oct. 7 terror attacks on southern Israel.
The attacks, which included acts of sexual violence and civilian populations, saw the murder of over 1200 people and the abduction of over 250.

The now-19-year-old Engel was abducted from Kibbutz Beeri on Oct.7, where he was observing Simchat Torah with his girlfriend Yuval Sharabi and her family. They were sleeping at 6:30 in the morning when rocket sirens woke them. He was 17 at the time Hamas abducted him.
“But the [sirens] didn’t stop,” Engel told JNS. “After two-and-a-half hours, friends started sending scary messages about hearing terrorists outside their houses and pleading for the army to arrive.”
Go to the full article >>Argentina has notified the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon of its withdrawal from the force, a UNIFIL spokesperson said on Tuesday, in the first sign of cracks in the unity of the mission following attacks it has blamed on Israel.
The 10,000-strong peacekeeping mission known as UNIFIL is deployed in southern Lebanon to monitor the demarcation line with Israel, an area where there have been hostilities between Israeli troops and Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters for over a year.
"Argentina has asked its officers to go back (to Argentina)," UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said in response to a question about a newspaper report.
He declined to comment on the reason for their departure, referring the question to Argentina's government.
Argentina is one of 48 countries contributing peacekeepers to UNIFIL, with a total of three staff currently in Lebanon, a UN website showed. It did not immediately respond to Tenenti's comments.

Go to the full article >>A humanitarian disaster in Gaza is being deepened by a total breakdown in law and order, and the conflict between Israel and Hamas is rendering the enclave uninhabitable, a senior official of the main UN aid agency there, UNRWA, said on Friday.
UNRWA official Natalie Boucly also said arrest warrants issued against senior Israeli politicians as well as a leader of Hamas by an international tribunal meant there would be a reckoning for the suffering inflicted on millions.
"Basically, the entire population of Gaza is in desperate need of assistance amid a looming famine," said Boucly, UNRWA's deputy commissioner-general, programs and partnerships.
Israel's parliament passed a law last month that will ban UNRWA from operating in the country when it takes effect in late January. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini has said its implementation "will have catastrophic consequences."
UNRWA has faced a list of controversies since Hamas invaded southern Israel and murdered some 1200 people. Notably, some UNRWA staff have been accused of participating in the attacks, which saw over 250 people abducted. A UNRWA social worker abducted Yonatan Samerano during the attacks, and his mother has since campaigned for the UNRWA chief for his release.
