Israel has no more excuses for entering Syria, rebel leader Julani says in first major TV interview

Julani called for the end of all foreign intervention in Syria in the interest of restabilizing and rebuilding the country.

Syrian rebel leader and head of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) Ahmad "Abu Mohammad al-Julani" al-Sharaa addressed Syria's future, focusing on international relations, for the first time on Saturday in an interview with opposition TV channel Syria.tv.

Julani said, "Israel's excuses for entering Syria no longer exist. After the Iranians' departure, there are no more justifications for any foreign intervention in Syria."

"The exhausted Syrian situation after years of war and conflicts does not allow for entering into any new conflicts."

Hamas publishes video of unidentified tattooed hostage

The spokesperson for Hamas's armed wing, Abu Obeida, wrote in a statement on Saturday evening that the IDF struck a place where hostages were held.

Hamas published a video of the body of at least one unidentifiable hostage seen with tattoos in a video to the terror group's Telegram channel on Saturday evening. 

The spokesperson for Hamas's armed wing, Abu Obeida, wrote in a statement on Saturday evening that the IDF struck a place where hostages were held.

Abu Obeida said that Hamas intelligence "confirms that the enemy deliberately bombed the place with the aim of killing the prisoners and their guards."

New footage revealed by the IDF shows Hamas torturing Palestinian prisoners in its detention facilities in the Gaza Strip, the military announced on Saturday evening. 

The surveillance footage is dated to 2023, and it captured Hamas's Al-Katiba Prison in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, Adraee said.

The Israel Air Force eliminated Imad Jaro, a terrorist in Hamas's military wing, the IDF announced on Saturday evening.

Jaro operated in a compound used by Hamas terrorists to plan and execute attacks against IDF soldiers in the humanitarian area in Deir-al-Balah, the military stated.

Despite reports indicating that Israel and Hamas are moving toward a Gaza hostage-ceasefire agreement, Israeli terms have complicated the agreement, Egyptian sources told the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese news outlet Al-Akhbar on Saturday. 

The Philadelphi Corridor has reportedly remained a hurdle as Israel continues to pursue maintaining control of the area as a critical component of preventing Hamas’s future rearmament.
