Bayern Munich to loan out Peretz, mulls extending Nübel's contract
Bayern Munich mulls extending Alexander Nübel's contract and considers him as replacement for Manuel Neuer in 2025; Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz set to be loaned out.
Israeli soccer star Daniel Peretz is set to be loaned out by Bayern Munich as the German soccer club considers extending the contract of Alexander Nübel, Sky Sports reported.
Goalkeeper Nübel has been shining on loan at VfB Stuttgart, and Munich views him as one of the top contenders to replace Manuel Neuer in 2025. Peretz, who Bayern also has high hopes for, will reportedly be loaned out at the end of the season.
Stuttgart's impressive form this season has seen them secure the third spot in the Bundesliga after 13 rounds. On loan from Bayern Munich, goalkeeper Nübel has only let in 15 goals, with just three teams in Germany managing to score fewer goals than them: Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig.
Alexander Nübel: Bayern's replacement for Manuel Neuer?
Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg said on X that both parties have viewed extending Nübel's contract positively. The 27-year-old German goalkeeper has captivated the attention of the German champions this season, making them consider him as a potential successor to Neuer if he can maintain his exceptional performance over time.
It’s NOT 100 % ruled out that Alexander Nübel might extend his contract at FC Bayern beyond 2025 ✔️ It’s an idea from all parties involved … ➡️ Nübel impresses Bayern and he’s informed that the club consider him to succeed Neuer one day - as long as he can maintain his… pic.twitter.com/eyQrDRg75l

However, reports suggest that Stuttgart is interested in acquiring Nübel's services permanently in the summer transfer window. While the goalkeeper has not dismissed the possibility, no decision has been made yet, with more information expected to come out in 2024.
The goalkeeper's estimated market value is around €12 million, with several teams in Germany and abroad expressing keen interest.
According to Plettenberg, if Neuer were to retire in 2025, there are currently three frontrunners for his position: Nübel, Gregor Kobel from Borussia Dortmund, and Mike Maignan from AC Milan. The journalist also reveals that Bayern "holds high hopes for Peretz, who is expected to be loaned out at the end of the season." This move does not guarantee Peretz's return to Bayern, and his future with the club will depend on his performance next season.
Neuer and Sven Ulreich recently signed new contracts with the club, keeping them at Bayern until the summer of 2025. They are expected to continue as the team's senior goalkeepers next season as well. Nübel, who joined Bayern as a free agent from FC Schalke 04 in the summer of 2020, was initially seen as Neuer's successor.
However, things did not go as planned, and he only made one league appearance for Bayern, spending the rest of his time on loan at Monaco and Stuttgart.
