Rav Pinto: Torah study is the cure for our soul
Against the background of the war and the disturbing situation for Jews in the diaspora, Rav Yoshiyahu Pinto landed in Florida yesterday to give a series of inspiring talks to the Shuva Israel communities in Miami.
After arrival, Rav Pinto gave a talk in the Shuva Israel beth midrash in Aventura, where a large audience gathered from the surroundings to hear encouragement and get blessings.
Rav Pinto at first referred to the terrible blow that the Jewish people received on Simchat Torah, with 1,400 precious Jews murdered and hundreds taken in captivity to Gaza by the Hamas terrorists. “It’s difficult to grasp with one’s mind what happened. It’s difficult to digest this number of people.
“The Jewish people are a small nation, a tiny percentage of the entire world. Despite that, everyone speaks about us from morning to night and everyone is preoccupied with us.” He continued, “We must remember that we have no one on whom we can rely besides our Father in heaven. If God had not been with us throughout the exile, we would have become extinct a long time ago.”
