 Hezbollah does not currently intend to send fighters to northern Syria to support the Syrian army there, three sources familiar with the Iran-backed group's thinking told Reuters on Monday.

The sources said Hezbollah had not yet been asked to do so and that the group was "not ready to send forces to Syria at this stage," after a ceasefire put an end to a year of hostilities with Israel, including intense ground clashes in southern Lebanon.

President Bashar Assad's Palace in Aleppo was invaded by Syrian rebels on Sunday evening, according to Arab media reports.

The take overcomes after Islamist Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) rebels swept into the city of Aleppo on Saturday, nearly encircling the remaining SAA pro-Regime forces, leading to a reinforcement by SDF-Kurdish forces.
