Fundraising event led by Rabbi Firer focuses on support for recovering soldiers.
The "Ezra LeMarpeh" Association, under the leadership of Rabbi Elimelech Firer, held a fundraising event at the Museum of the Jewish People at Tel Aviv University, under the theme "Everything for the Recovering Soldiers" at the organization's rehabilitation center in Sderot.
Around 200 senior business leaders participated alongside approximately 30 wounded IDF soldiers undergoing rehabilitation at the center in Sderot. Among those in attendance were: Shlomi Levy, the event chairperson, Yair Hamburger, Udi Angel, David Forer, Yigal Ahouvi, Ori Levin, Yossi Zellinger, Yossi Sheinfeld, Doron Halperin, Nir Lampeter, Natan Chevroni, Efraim Kondeh, Eli Kamir, and others.
Businessmen Udi Angel and Meir Shamir covered the cost of the tables for the wounded IDF soldiers present at the event.
The event was hosted by journalist Sivan Rahav-Meir, and former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen gave a lecture to the attendees. The musical program featured a performance by singer Yishai Ribo.
Rabbi Elimelech Firer, who was deeply moved by the response from the business community to support the rehabilitation center in Sderot, stated: "The commitment of everyone to assist in the rehabilitation of wounded IDF soldiers gives me the strength to continue our blessed work for the recovering soldiers."
Shlomi Levy, founder and owner of Globus (the international logistics and shipping company), which sponsored the event "Everything for the Recovering Soldiers," said: "During this challenging time, mutual responsibility and unity within the people of Israel are of great importance. We are proud to contribute our modest part in supporting and aiding the rehabilitation of wounded IDF soldiers and in lending a hand to the Ezra LeMarpeh Association, led by Rabbi Firer, who work with dedication and love to rehabilitate hundreds of wounded IDF soldiers. Kudos to Rabbi Firer and to the rehabilitation center in Sderot under the Ezra LeMarpeh Association."
The event was organized by Kalman Schreiber, Rabbi Firer's assistant.
