We reviewed the new products hitting the shelves.

Templeton Rye Whiskey, Agat&D

The energetic wine and spirits importer Agat&D delivers a significant announcement to Israel, just in time for cozying up with a drink in hand.

Enter Templeton Rye, a delightful representation of the historic American distillery from Iowa. This whiskey’s cultural ties stretch back to the Prohibition era, intertwined with mafia legends and Al Capone himself.

Today, far removed from those tumultuous years, the brand seeks to "bring people together beyond time, age, gender, and social class." It achieves this through a meticulous aging process rooted in tradition.

The Templeton catalog is impressive, featuring rye whiskeys aged four and six years, a reserve that patiently matured for a decade, and a Barrel Strength Rye bottled straight from the cask without dilution. There's also a special, even stronger edition of the Rye Barrel Strength, along with the Tears of Llorona extra añejo tequila and a Cask Finish whiskey aged in tequila barrels.

We sampled the six-year version, boasting 45.75% alcohol content and a rich amber hue. Its complex flavor profile begins with oak forests and transitions to caramel notes. This balance, from aroma to finish, works wonderfully neat but also elevates premium cocktails.

Moroccan Fish Patties by Madam Perez

The Soglowek home-cooked meals line continues to expand with a delicious new offering.

Madam Perez launched as a ready-to-heat microwave meal brand, providing a practical alternative to home-cooked dishes that many of us struggle to prepare regularly—either for ourselves or for our kids.

Now, they’ve added a box (NIS 34.90) of Moroccan-style fish patties in tomato and pepper sauce, promising a hint of spice. The result is excellent for its category—surprisingly soft, juicy, and delicately seasoned with just a touch of heat for added character. Serve it over white rice or mashed potatoes, ideally with a thick slice of challah, and you’ve got a complete meal.
