Netanya’s new market complex: Cocktail Bar & Performances
An open courtyard under the sky, farm-to-table food, a bar named after a legendary stadium, concerts and fairs - Netanya's market revival with a new vibrant tourist complex.
Netanya's urban market has undergone a culinary transformation in recent years and is now joined by a new urban entertainment space.
At the beginning of the week, the "Shuq Court" complex was inaugurated inside the market. The complex is located in the heart of the market, under the roof of the sky, in the area that used to be called the "poultry market", preserving the rough charm of the market on its colorful walls.
The entrance to the market yard is from Zangvil Street, through the renovated bar avenue in the market. For many months, the necessary infrastructure was built with the aim of turning the old area into a tourist complex, as part of an extensive project with the cooperation of many parties, including the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Housing, for a complete renewal of the old market in Netanya - which will maintain the character of the market as a lively, happy complex and an evening for the palate.
The Netanya Market Complex consists of two areas:
The box bar - the new neighborhood bar in the heart of the market (named after Netanya's mythical stadium which was further down the street) built from 7 bars connected to one complex, a wine and cocktail bar and a kosher kitchen with a lively atmosphere.
Tribune - a place for entertainment and events in the upper part of the Market Square, Track Club courtyard with street art, a stage for performances and options for private events. The tribune is divided into two defined seating areas with different and kosher menus: the southern tribune serves a dairy chef's menu and the northern tribune serves a meat chef's menu.
The municipality of Netanya sees the market as a strategic tourist complex and a center of attraction for residents of the country and non-residents, in the meantime, the municipality operates within the framework of a five-year plan to upgrade infrastructure and urban renewal in the old city center, including the municipal market. So far, about NIS 7 million have been invested in the complex, and in the future another NIS 20 million will be invested.
Hours of operation of The Market Yard:
Wednesday and Thursday evenings are open to the public.
Fridays at noon - Shabbat reception, up to an hour before the start of Shabbat, open to the general public.
Saturday night - about an hour after Shabbat ends, open to the general public.
On Sunday-Tuesday, the place turns into an event space that serves a variety of kosher food and drinks.
