The pasta revolt succeeded: Major importer cuts prices by approximately 10%
Thanks to the global drop in flour prices and efforts by importer S. Schestowitz, Barilla pasta prices in Israel have been reduced by about 10%.
S. Schestowitz, the importer of the Barilla pasta brand, announced a price reduction of approximately 10% on average for retail markets. The reduction applies to the classic pasta series, which accounts for the majority of pasta sales, as well as the gluten-free pasta series.
The price cut is made possible by the decline in global flour prices, along with S. Schestowitz's efforts with Barilla Global to benefit Israeli pasta consumers.
S. Schestowitz stated: "In recent years, we have had to cope with price increases from international suppliers of these products. We are pleased to have the opportunity to lower retail prices in a way that benefits the Israeli consumer. The new prices are expected to be implemented in retail markets across the country in the coming weeks."
