Pop divas Madonna and Barbra Streisand show support for Israel
Madonna posted graphic picture of an attack's aftermath on Instagram.
The two reigning divas of pop music, Madonna and Barbra Streisand, showed their support for Israel on social media on Monday.
Madonna, who has a keen interest in Kabbalah and once made a pilgrimage to the grave of Kabbalist Yitzhak Luria in Safed, posted a picture of dozens of bodies of Israeli concertgoers slaughtered by Hamas on Saturday, with a video detailing the atrocities committed by Hamas there.
Alongside it, she wrote:
Streisand, whose Judaism has always been a huge part of her onstage and on-screen persona, posted a story to her Instagram that read, “The population of Israel is under 10 million people. There are over 700 confirmed Israeli dead from the terrorist attack on civilians. The equivalent in the US would be over 25,000 dead in New York City on 9/11.”
Both singers have performed in Israel and visited privately many times.
